The dog days of winter are upon us. Below-zero wind chills, sand-crusted snowbanks and that lowly feeling you get when you remember that it is going to be like this at least until April; ultimately too long.

All right, so maybe it’s only like this for people who live in cold-weather climates, but once the big holidays have passed you by, there really isn’t much else to look forward to until the warm days of summer. UNLESS – you’re going on a vacation!

If you haven’t planned one yet, it’s time. Unsure where to go? Let us help you figure out your winter escape. Look below and choose which best describes what you’re looking for and then get going!

If you like to party…

…try Cancun. Grab your swimsuit and sunglasses and make a beeline to Mexico’s glorious Yucatan Peninsula. Known as a popular spring break destination, you’ll find 20-somethings crowds scattering the white-sand beaches and filling the world-renowned nightclubs like Coco Bongo and The City. When you aren’t lounging at the Nichupte Lagoon with a margarita in hand, check out Cancun’s Mayan archaeological sites like Chichen Itza, Tulum and Coba.

…or Miami. Don’t feel like dealing with a passport? Head to the super posh port city in Southeastern Florida. With a climate almost identical to the Caribbean tropics, you’ll be a bronzed sunbather in no time on the famous South Beach. Also a popular spring break destination, Miami is the place to go if you need to dance. Cuban, Dominican and West Indies beats flow from Little Havana and nightclubs like Mansion.

If you like warm sand and island mystique…

…check out Hawaii. Besides the postcard perfect beaches, vibrant flora and luxury hotels speckling The Big Island and its smaller counterparts, the fact that these islands were created by and still comprised of active volcanoes truly makes this an exotic winter escape. Discover the two national parks, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Haleakala National Park, and the international Hula competition, Merrie Monarch Festival.
